About Us
The Sydney String Centre was established in 1991 by David and Carmel Glanville to provide Sydney with a truly specialised centre for orchestral stringed instruments. Carmel's years of experience as a player and teacher and David's expertise as a maker and repairer within the music industry create a unique situation where sound advice can be given and supported in a practical way. These days SSC is a truly family company with David and Carmel's three children, Douglas, Libby and Max all involved in the business.
Over the
years we have endeavored to search out products that we consider are
of good quality and represent value for money. We also travel overseas
regularly to examine thoroughly and test all the latest products from
around the world for their suitability.
We have
a comprehensive workshop to service and set-up all instruments that
we sell as well as repairs and restorations to your valued instruments.
