The original Sam Cooke recording of (What a) Wonderful World, released on his first album in 1959, defined late '50s to early '60s pop culture. Artists such as Herman's Hermits and Otis Redding subsequently covered the song in 1965, as did various singers and bands up to the present-day. It has also been used in several movie soundtracks.
