(24/3/20) To our valued customers:

We are thinking of you all during this difficult time. Music is often a source of comfort in times like this so we are continuing to operate as long as possible whilst fulfilling our obligations for social distancing.

Our business will continue operating during our regular hours.

During this time, we are trying to limit the amount of people in the store at any one time. To help facilitate this, we are encouraging customers to pre-order items by phone or through our website. There are three options for deliver/pick-up:

  1. Free Shipping – We are offering free shipping on all orders made on the website, by phone or email to make it easier for you to keep playing music at home! (Please note we are working with Auspost and cannot be held responsible for any Auspost delays)
  2. In-store pickup – You are welcome to pick up your order in store as long as you are healthy and meet the criteria outlined below. You will be notified once the order is ready to be collected.
  3. Kerb-side pickup – If you would rather not come into the store directly, select this option on check-out or request it during your phone order. We will give you instructions once you have placed the order. (If you are unwell, we would prefer that you stay at home and select free shipping instead)

Our Workshop

The workshop is still open and conducting repairs however, if your repair is not urgent, for example, a regular 6 or 12 month service, we would encourage you to delay your visit until the situation changes.

If your repair is urgent we should be able to accommodate you however please adhere to our guidelines below for visiting the store.

If you are visiting the store

Our showroom more than meets the 1 in 4m2 requirements set out by the Federal government, so we will keep the showroom open subject to the following:

  • If you or your children are feeling unwell, coughing, sneezing, have a runny nose or fever we ask that you please stay home.
  • If you have returned from overseas in the last 14 days or been in contact with anyone who has contracted COVID-19, we also ask that you stay at home until the 14 days have passed without symptom.
  • We won’t be accepting cash but happily accept card or bank transfer.

The Sydney String Centre staff are taking active measures to ensure the health & safety of our customers & staff. Some of the preventative measures we are taking include:

  • Regularly cleaning & disinfecting our work areas and the showroom
  • Safely disinfecting all instruments in store both for sale & for rent
  • You may see our showroom staff wearing gloves, masks or using hand sanitizer in store as an added safety precaution
  • We may ask for the parent’s assistance moving children’s hands/arms into place when sizing for an instrument so as to observe the current ‘social distancing’ recommendations
  • If you are coming to the store to try an instrument either for sale or for rent, you will be asked to wash your hands & use hand sanitizer. Our staff are also doing the same thing

Need help but can’t come into the store?

Our team are ready to take your calls and answer your emails! We can also arrange consultations via Zoom, Skype or Facetime.

(20/3/20) To our valued customers:

As COVID-19 continues to spread throughout our country, the safety of both our customers and staff is our main priority. We remain open for business both at our storefront and online. As the situation evolves, we are taking recommendations from the government and local health authorities.

We are taking active measures to ensure the safety and health of our customers and staff at The Sydney String Centre by regularly cleaning and disinfecting our work areas, the showroom and all instruments for sale and rent.

If you plan to come by the store, we do ask that our customers take some preventative measures to assist with the health and safety of our other customers and staff.

  • If you or your children are feeling at all unwell, coughing, sneezing, have a runny nose or fever we ask that you please stay home.
  • If you have returned from overseas in the last 14 days, we do also ask that you please stay at home until the 14 days have passed without symptom.

If you are planning to come into the store, please rest assured that The Sydney String Centre staff are taking active measures to ensure the health and safety of our customers and staff. Some of the preventative measures we are taking include:

  • Regularly cleaning and disinfecting our work areas and the showroom
  • Safely disinfecting all instruments in store both for sale and for rent
  • You may see our showroom staff wearing gloves or using hand sanitizer in store as an added safety precaution
  • We may ask for the parent’s assistance moving children’s hands/arms into place when sizing for an instrument so as to observe the current ‘social distancing’ recommendations

**If you are coming to the store to try an instrument either for sale or for rent, you will be asked to wash your hands and use hand sanitizer. Our staff are also doing the same thing**

NOTE: Your hands should be entirely dry before touching an instrument as hand sanitizer contains a high alcohol content and can cause severe damage to string instruments.

We are more than happy to assist in whatever online capacity that we can with free Skype, Zoom or Facetime consultations or providing a pick-up/drop off service for instruments within reason if you cannot get to the store. Please get in touch today if you can’t make it to the store but require our assistance or have an instrument related emergency!

As always – HAPPY MUSIC MAKING! Now is a great time to catch up on your practice, learn that piece you’ve always wanted to play and spread joy through the power of music! As a local family business, we appreciate your continued support.
