Made in Germany, the GEWA Air Prestige Oblong Violin Case is the perfect solution for violinists who are looking for something that is not only stylish, strong and lightweight, but offers premium prestige touches over the standard Air range. Based on the popular GEWA Air range, this case is extremely light and protective. It uses a thermoplast-shell that allows breathability, which moderates the temperature and is healthier for your instrument, meaning better temperature insulation properties than traditional fibreglass or carbon fibre shells. The Air Prestige includes a number of touches that add a premium feel over the standard Air range. Externally, the top of the case is finished in soft yet durable imitation leather whilst the bottom is finished in gloss black. A black leather handle is stitched and colour coded to match the front. Inside, imitation leather straps, with colour matched stitching, helps keep your instrument securely in place. Weighing less than 2kg, this case is handmade in Germany. Inside, an adjustable padded suspension system that is specially developed for the thermoplast-shell and allows your violin to float inside to minimise the impact of potential knocks and bumps. The case also features the GEWA patented swivel bow holders which makes it safer and easier to take your bows in and out of the case. Dimensions: 80 x 25 x 15cm (LWH)

  • Transit times range from 2-6 days depending on your location. Express shipping is available however orders must be placed before 12pm to qualify for next day delivery.
  • If you have ordered items that are out of stock, your full order will be dispatched once all items are in stock and available to send. If you wish to receive your in-stock items as soon as possible, an additional fee will be charged for the second shipment.
  • International shipping is available, however it is currently not available on our website. Please contact us for a quote.

How will my order be shipped?

Orders will be shipped using regular or express Auspost eParcel (or TNT Express for larger items). Once your order has been shipped you will receive an email with tracking information.

If you have any delivery instructions/requests please leave a note in the comments at checkout and we will do our best to accommodate you.

To ensure your items are delivered safely we require signature on delivery. If you are not at home at the time of delivery, the Auspost courier will leave a calling card and the parcel will be taken to your local post office. (TNT leaves a calling card to notify you that delivery was attempted.)

If you would like your order to be left at your front door, etc., you can indicate that a signature is not required and add delivery instructions in the comments section at checkout. Please note that if you request to have your package left without signature, The Sydney String Centre will not be held responsible for packages that are then lost or stolen. Please see our shipping insurance below for more information.



How quickly will you ship my order?

For items in stock, dispatch will be within 1-2 working days and delivery times will vary based on your location. For out of stock items we will contact you within 24 hours to let you know the estimated delivery time. If your order is urgent we recommend contacting us before placing your order so that we can give you an ETA.

International Delivery

International orders will be sent via Express Australia Post eParcel, Fedex or TNT based on your location and the size of your order. Shipping cost is calculated based on weight and volume up to 5kg (we prefer to send Auspost International Express because they include tracking, signature on delivery and SMS updates). For anything over 5kg please contact us for a quote. You may need to pay customs fees and/or GST on top of the advertised purchase price when the goods arrive in your country. The Sydney String Centre are not responsible for paying these fees. We recommend checking your country’s importing fees before purchasing. We currently ship to the following countries:

Shipping Insurance

All products are insured against damage caused while in transit from The Sydney String Centre to the customer only. They are not insured if they are simply lost or stolen. This includes packages that have been left at a property on request (without signature) so we strongly recommend having your items shipped to a work address if no one will be home to sign for the package.

 

Delivery Delays

Unforseen supply problems or unexpected demand may occasionally result in stock being unavailable. Should there be a delay in dispatching your order we will contact you within 24 hours to advise you of the reason for the delay. If you need your item(s) urgently we recommend contacting us before making an order to check whether the items are readily available.

Our Free Servicing Policy

Stringed instruments are at their best when serviced regularly. Changes in temperature and humidity and general wear can affect the delicate balance and overall performance of the instruments. We recommend that your instrument be serviced every six months. When an instrument is purchased from The Sydney String Centre, regular servicing is free for the time that you are the owner of the instrument (pending our instrument servicing terms and conditions below) as we like to know that your instrument is performing at its best at all times.

We are happy to service instruments that have not been purchased from us, with service costs starting from $80. (Please note, servicing does not include parts, e.g. strings etc.)
 

Instrument Servicing Terms and Conditions:

The Sydney String Centre offers FREE servicing for instruments bought at our store pending the following conditions.
The instrument was originally purchased from The Sydney String Centre and you are the original owner of the instrument.
ii) The Instrument must be presented in store for servicing within 12 months of it’s last service (we recommend coming in every 6 months).
iii) If the instrument is not presented in store for the first initial adjustment (first service) within 2-4 weeks of buying the instrument then warranty on some parts may be void.
