Intermediate Instrument Rental
Available from November 1st 2018!
If you are an intermediate to advanced player travelling for a short period of time, or perhaps a beginner wanting to learn on something a little nicer, renting one of our intermediate instruments is a great option.
Our affordable and flexible payment plans allow you to make weekly, monthly or quarterly payments. If you decide to rent monthly or quarterly, you can claim your first three months rent as credit toward purchasing any new instrument from our intermediate range or above. Please note that this offer does not apply to those renting on a weekly plan.
If you intend to rent an intermediate instrument from us, we ask you that pre-book through our website as we have limited availability.
You will need to bring a driver’s license (or other identification showing photo, current address, and date of birth) and a credit card.
What quality are the instruments?
All of our rental violins, violas, cellos and double basses are good quality instruments that have been professionally set-up and serviced by us on our premises. Our intermediate instruments are made from a higher grade of timber than our standard beginner range and this is reflected in the sound. They also come with a Kreisler carbon composite bow, which allows the player to have more control when performing intermediate bowings, as well as a better quality case for protection. All of our rental instruments come with rosin, however you will need to purchase a shoulder rest separately if you do not already own one.
The following options are currently available in our intermediate rental range:
Schroeder 200 Violin with a GEWA Concerto case and Kreisler Carbon bow - valued at $1,326
Schroeder 100 Cello with a Kreisler Pod Case and Kreisler Carbon bow - valued at $2,995
Can I buy the violin, viola, cello or double bass that I am renting?
Unfortunately no, as we prefer to sell you a brand new violin or cello to ensure you are getting an instrument in perfect condition.
Can I have the rental instrument sent out to me?
We are unable to send rental instruments as there is a high risk that the instrument will be damaged in transit. To hire an instrument you must come into our store.
What if I don’t have a credit card or photo ID?
We use credit cards both as security and future rental payments. The first rental payment and all subsequent payments must be paid via credit card, however the deposit can be paid by other methods in-store. Unfortunately if you don’t have a credit card or photo ID, we would suggest purchasing an instrument using an alternative payment method.
Will my instrument be insured?
Yes, our rental instruments are insured for accidental damage only. This does not include broken strings or damage from heat and/or water. Please see our full list of terms and conditions for more information.
