After approximately 28 years in the UK, he returned to Australia and established his workshop in the Sydney region. With a strong interest in engineering, acoustics and technical analysis, Goodfellow combines traditional violin-making principles with modern technology. He regularly participates in the Oberlin Violin Making Workshop and has contributed to publications including The Strad and the VSA Journal. Goodfellow makes violins, violas and cellos, with his work receiving medals at international competitions.
