Christmas Delivery Deadlines
2020 has been an unprecedented year! With the festive season fast approaching, we’re encouraging customers to be prepared earlier this year.
COVID-19 has meant that parcels are taking longer than normal to arrive. We are working closely with our delivery partners to ensure parcels arrive to their destination on time, and suggest you order by the following dates:
Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane - 10th December
Perth, Adelaide, NSW, QLD, VIC - 7th December
SA, TAS, NT, WA - 4th December
Metro - 17th December
Regional - 14th December
Please note, these are guidelines only, and are not a guarantee that your item will arrive before Christmas. We recommend ordering what you need as soon as possible to avoid any potential delays

What if my order has items that are in and out of stock?
If you have ordered items that are out of stock, your full order will be dispatched once all items are in stock and available to send. If you would like the in-stock items to be sent separately, an additional fee will be charged for the second shipment.
How will my order be shipped?
Orders will be shipped using standard post, AusPost eParcel Regular Post or AusPost eParcel Express Post (or TNT Express for larger items). For applicable orders, once your order has been shipped, you will receive an email with tracking information. To ensure your items are delivered safely, we require signature on delivery.
All items are carefully packed to prevent any damage in transit. We use a combination of environmentally friendly cardboard twist mailers, cardboard boxes. tough cardboard envelopes and paper based protective wrapping to sure all items arrive safely.
What if I am not home for delivery?
If you are not at home at the time of delivery, Australia Post will leave a calling card and the parcel will be taken to your local post office for collection. For orders shipped with TNT, a calling card will be left requesting a call back to organise redelivery.
If you would like your parcel left without a signature, a ‘Safe Drop’ can be requested with Australia Post. This can be done from the email or SMS sent to you by AusPost when the order is despatched. The Sydney String Centre cannot request a Safe Drop on your behalf and will not include any notes on the parcel requesting the order to be left without a signature. If you request to have your package left without signature using ‘Safe Drop’, The Sydney String Centre will not be held responsible for packages that are then lost or stolen.
How quickly will you ship my order?
For items in stock, dispatch will be within 1-2 business days. Orders where items are in stock must be placed before 12pm to be sent same day.
If you have ordered items that are out of stock, your full order will be dispatched once all items are in stock and available to send. If you wish to receive your out of stock items as soon as possible, an additional fee will be charged for the second shipment. We will contact you within 24 hours to let you know the ETA for stock and to determine how you would like your order sent. If your order is urgent we recommend contacting us before placing your order so that we can give you an ETA.

Shipping times are estimates based on Australia Post guidelines. The Sydney String Centre is not responsible for any delays in delivery as a result of Australia Post. Orders must be placed before 12pm to be sent same day.

Unforeseen supply problems or unexpected demand may occasionally result in stock being unavailable. Should there be a delay in dispatching your order we will contact you within 24 hours to advise you of the reason for the delay. If you need your item(s) urgently we recommend contacting us before making an order to check whether the items are readily available.You may cancel such an order at any time prior to processing. International orders will be sent via Australia Post Express Courier International or TNT, based on your location and the size of your order. Shipping cost is calculated based on weight and volume up to 5kg. For anything over 5kg please contact us for a quote. You may need to pay customs fees and/or GST on top of the advertised purchase price when the goods arrive in your country. The Sydney String Centre are not responsible for paying these fees. All products are insured against damage caused while in transit from The Sydney String Centre to the customer only. They are not insured if they are simply lost or stolen. This includes packages that have been left at a property on request.
Our Free Servicing Policy
Stringed instruments are at their best when serviced regularly. Changes in temperature and humidity and general wear can affect the delicate balance and overall performance of the instruments. We recommend that your instrument be serviced every six months. When an instrument is purchased from The Sydney String Centre, regular servicing is free for the time that you are the owner of the instrument (pending our instrument servicing terms and conditions below) as we like to know that your instrument is performing at its best at all times.
We are happy to service instruments that have not been purchased from us, with service costs starting from $80. (Please note, servicing does not include parts, e.g. strings etc.)
Instrument Servicing Terms and Conditions:The Sydney String Centre offers FREE servicing for instruments bought at our store pending the following conditions.
The instrument was originally purchased from The Sydney String Centre and you are the original owner of the instrument.
ii) The Instrument must be presented in store for servicing within 12 months of it’s last service (we recommend coming in every 6 months).
iii) If the instrument is not presented in store for the first initial adjustment (first service) within 2-4 weeks of buying the instrument then warranty on some parts may be void.
