Jean Dupres Violin Mirecourt 2021

This violin was made in the Aubert workshop in 2021. Aubert Lutherie is situated in Mirecourt, France and they are known for making traditional French instruments. This instrument comes with a certificate of authenticity and photos from the workshop.

This violin is labelled ‘Jean Duprés. Fait sous la direction de Vincent Morin Annèe: 2021 N. 23, Mirecourt France.’ The body measures 357mm along the back, 171mm across the upper bouts and 210mm across the lower bouts. The back is made from two pieces of moderately flamed maple. The top is made from spruce with a straight grain. This violin has a good cover of red-brown varnish and ebony fittings.

Overall this violin has a dark and silky sound. It is very responsive with a focused tone and outstanding projection. This instrument is ideal for the late-intermediate to advanced musician. This instrument is currently fitted with Larsen Il Cannone Med strings on the A, D and G. Warchal Amber E string to enhance the natural brightness of this violins sound.
