Irkanda IV for String Quartet- Score

Written upon the death of his father, Irkanda IV has become one of Sculthorpe’s most performed works and his first mature composition – a ritual lamentation leading to a song-like, life-affirming coda. Sculthorpe has translated “irkanda” as “a remote and lonely place”.
