This violin was made in the Scrollavezza & Zanre workshop in 2024, Parma, Italy. Elisa Scrollavezza & Andrea Zanrè opened their own workshop in Parma during 2002. They specialize in not only making high-quality instruments but also restoration, historical research & acoustics. Elisa & Andrea both teach at the Renato Scrollavezza School of Violin Making in Parma. Elisa’s father, Renato Scrollavezza was one of the most highly respected modern Italian luthiers & was the curator of Paganini’s violin the Guarneri del Gesu nicknamed ‘Il Cannone.’ Elisa & Andrea have won numerous awards at various national competitions over the years & attended advanced making classes internationally. This instrument comes with a certificate of authenticity & photos from the makers.

This violin is labelled ATELIER SCROLLAVEZZA & ZANRE, Parma. Anno 2024 and is based on a Pressenda model. The body measures 354mm along the back, 165mm across the upper bouts and 205mm across the lower bouts. The back is of one-piece flamed maple, with matching ribs and scroll and the front is a finely grained spruce. It has been finished with a golden-red varnish on yellow ground.

This violin has a warm sound and is most suited for chamber and orchestral performances.
