12 Studies-Caprices Op. 25 - for Violin - Camillo Sivori - Violin Ricordi

The first modern edition of SivoriŒÍs Capricci - the most important violin piece after PaganiniŒÍs own Capricci - by Fulvio Luciani, who first played them. This revised edition provides all the indications needed for its performance. The notes analyse SivoriŒÍs extraordinary modernity - he was PaganiniŒÍs only student and also a world-famous violinist - and track the evolutions in taste and technical habits (of the violinists) by means of comparison with all the previous editions of the Capricci over the years. The Appendix contains versions of 3 Capricci accompanied by piano, two of which being published for the first time.
