This manual will give greater understanding of the overall philosophy and particular concepts found in this book.
As a string method, Tricky Fingers aims to help students establish a solid technical and musical foundation that will facilitate their long term development. Sequenced lesson material introduces appropriate musical concepts and technical skills through engaging little pieces. Tricky Fingers 2 incorporates concepts from Tricky Fingers such as "left-hand pizzicato" and "harmonics" for the ongoing development of an agile, flexible and "soft-handed" technique on the instrument.
Learning to read music is like learning to read a new language; it has its own "alphabet" and "grammar". The Note Detective pages are designed to aid note learning and reinforce the music theory learnt in this book. Regular practice and familiarity with the notes brings fluency in playing!
A Piano Accompaniment book is available for Tricky Fingers 2. Recordings of the piano accompaniments can be accessed online at lakermusic.com.au for practice and performance.
