Nicolas Deroux 600VA Cello 4/4

This lovely cello was handcrafted in China using two-pieces of maple for the back and has a well-flamed narrow curl with matching sides, and finely grained spruce on the top. This instrument is fitted with a french bridge, ebony pegs, and a tailpiece with built-in fine tuners. This cello has an amber red-brown varnish, and measures 762mm in length, 340mm along the upper bout, 430mm across the lower bout.

The Deroux 600VA offers a full and clear tone, and the projection achieved by this cello is substantial, filling any performance space and offering players the opportunity to explore the dynamics that they can achieve with their playing. This instrument has a shimmering quality which is a result of the complexity in its character, and resonates each individual overtone to create a rich and warm sound.
