Ready to take the next step in your playing? An intermediate instrument is designed to help you move beyond the basics and truly start shaping your own sound. Compared to beginner instruments, these are crafted from higher-quality, well-seasoned tonewoods, allowing for greater responsiveness, a wider dynamic range, and richer tonal colours. When paired with an appropriately matched intermediate or advanced-level bow, this gives developing players the tools they need to approach more demanding repertoire with greater confidence, control, and musical expression.
Our intermediate range is one of the largest in Australia, featuring a carefully curated mix of Chinese, Australian and German-made instruments that will comfortably support students working around AMEB Grades 4–7. With such a wide range of tonal characteristics, craftsmanship styles, and finishes, you’re sure to find an instrument that suits your playing style, musical taste, and helps you discover your sound.
Every intermediate instrument is professionally set up by our qualified workshop technicians with the advancing player in mind; optimised for improved projection, responsiveness, and tonal depth, and fitted with quality European strings to deliver a richer, more refined sound with greater scope for nuance and expression. All instruments purchased from us include and free ongoing servicing and support*.
