This bow was made by Charles Louis Bazin. His father Charles Nicolas Bazin introduced him to bow-making and in 1907 he took over the family business, working beside his father and several workers. After WW1 and the temporary interruption of all activity, work resumed with a brand new team, including his son Charles Alfred from 1922. Charles Louis worked until his death in 1953. The quality of Louis BAZIN's bows is so that his name has become a reference among French bows of the first half of the 20th century.

This violin bow is stamped "Lupot" and weighs 60.0 grams. It has a round pernambuco stick measuring 745mm, with silver lapping and a leather grip. The frog is of ebony with a mother of pearl eye, and a three-part silver and ebony button. It is in good condition.

The bow has an balanced, flexible stick with just enough rigidity to make it crisp and clear in articulation. Smoothness is one of its greatest strengths as well, offering a gentler side of attack as well. Spiccato is light and easy to control, and sautillé takes very little effort to begin and continue. It is most suitable for people playing at a tertiary level, especially with solo and chamber repertoire.
