This viola was made in the Scrollavezza & Zanre workshop in 2022, Parma, Italy. Elisa Scrollavezza & Andrea Zanrè opened their own workshop in Parma in 2002. They specialize in not only making high-quality instruments but also restoration, historical research and acoustics. Elisa & Andrea both teach at the Renato Scrollavezza School of Violin Making in Parma. Elisa’s father, Renato Scrollavezza was one of the most highly respected modern Italian luthiers, and was the curator of Paganini’s violin, the Guarneri del Gesu nicknamed ‘Il Cannone.’ Elisa & Andrea have won numerous awards at various national competitions over the years & attended advanced making classes internationally. This instrument comes with a certificate of authenticity and photos from the makers.

This instrument is labelled "IMITAZIONE GUADAGNINI / Scrollavezza & Zanre (signed) / PARMA. ANNO 2023" and is based on a Guadagnini model.
