Tricky Fingers starts string players in a different way to many other beginner methods. The aim here is to introduce skills and techniques that will help students set up good playing posture on their instrument, laying a solid foundation for future development. Sufficient time is needed for this to take place, especially for young students learning in groups, so a "go-slow" approach is taken.
This means you may not hear your child playing a "tune" for some time, as the skills needed to do so are taught sequentially and methodically and given time to develop. The "tunes" will come, just a bit late! The note detective sheets (music theory worksheets) should be completed when instructed by the teacher.
