Violin - Milos Seyda 2025, Guarneri Model "Brusilow 1743"
This violin was made by Milos Seyda in Cremona, Italy, in 2025. Originally from Patagonia, Argentina, Milos Seyda is a classically trained cellist and violin maker, based in Cremona since 2015. Seyda's journey into lutherie began in 2010, under Paula Godoy in Buenos Aires, and continued at the Cremona International School of Violin Making where he earned a diploma in 2017. Since then, he has honed his skills in making and restoration under esteemed luthiers such as Patrick Robin, Francis Kuttner, and Alessandro Voltini. Most recently he received a bronze medal for the violin he entered into the 2024 Concorso Triennale Internazionale di Liuteria Antonio Stradivari. This instrument is labelled "Milos Seyda fecit / Cremonæ anno - 2025" and is modelled after the 1743 'Brusilow' Guarneri violin. The body measures 354mm along the back, 162mm across the upper bouts and 201mm across the lower bouts. The back is made with two pieces of highly flamed maple with a medium curl, and the ribs and scroll have been made to match. The top is of a finely grained spruce. The violin has been antiqued and finished with a gold-brown varnish. It is fitted with ebony pegs and tailpiece. The violin has a rich and broad sound. This instrument does well to achieve both bold but also delicate tone colours, making it versatile, and suited to a range of playing styles. It projects easily across both the high and low registers and has a beautiful resonance. It is full of energy and requires very little effort from the player to create a beautiful tone. It would be most suited to players at a tertiary or professional level and would be ideal for soloist playing.
