Pasquale Sardone was born in Altamura, Italy in 1979. In 2001, he moved to Cremona to attend the International School of Violin Making, and learned to make stringed instruments under the guidance of Maestro Giorgio Scolari. He subsequently began an apprenticeship in the workshop of Maestro Giorgio Grisales. In 2013, he opened his own workshop in Cremona where he makes, repairs and restores instruments. He continues to study classical and contemporary violin making, paying close attention to varnishes and shapes to achieve the right balance between aesthetics and sound.

This cello is labelled "Sardone Pasquale / Cremona 2025". The body measures 757mm along the back, 357mm across the upper bouts and 452mm across the lower bouts. The back is made with two pieces of highly flamed maple with a narrow curl. The ribs and scroll have been made to match. The top is of a finely grained spruce. It has been finished with an amber-brown varnish and ebony fittings.
