Peter Goodfellow Cello Sydney 2026

This cello was made by Peter Goodfellow in xxxx, in xxxx, Australia. Peter Goodfellow trained at the Newark School of Violin Making in England, graduating in 1999, before working with English restorer Paul Gaston. After approximately 28 years in the UK, he returned to Australia and established his workshop in the Sydney region. With a strong interest in engineering, acoustics and technical analysis, Goodfellow combines traditional violin-making principles with modern technology. He regularly participates in the Oberlin Violin Making Workshop and has contributed to publications including The Strad and the VSA Journal. Goodfellow makes violins, violas and cellos, with his work receiving medals at international competitions. His cello making has been particularly successful, including Gold Medals at Mittenwald and the Violin Society of America competition in 2010.
