Pirastro Violino Violin, D, 1/8-1/4

The Pirastro Violino E string produces a round, warm tone that is both sweet and well-controlled. It has helped my son achieve a more refined and pleasant sound, especially in the upper register. The string also feels noticeably softer under the finger, making it much more comfortable to play. This has allowed him to practise for longer periods without finger pain. Overall, it’s an excellent choice for young players seeking both tonal quality and comfort.

After seeking an alternative to the famous Dominant strings, I was put onto Pirastro Violino strings some years ago. It was a happy discovery. A good balance of warmth for the G and D strings, a mild, clean brightness for the A string and pretty solid sparkle and brilliance for the E string. I have tried them on both modern and older instruments and they have produced some lovely results. A very good broad spectrum string set. Like all string sets, they do not suit every violin but they are definitely worth a try. Happy to recommend Violino strings.
