Surf's Up - Ooestenbroek - String Orchestra Grade 2 - Score/Parts

Surf’s Up!  is a fun piece intended for primary school students. All parts have melodic and rhythmic interest making it fun for all students involved. Written entirely in 1st position, there are challenges with chromatic notes (G#s and D#s) as well as the usual low 2nd fingers in violins/violas. There are also opportunities for the violins to use 4th fingers instead of open E. There are some syncopated figures as well that will help develop the students’ rhythmic abilities. A piano part is provided but not essential for performance. A great piece that both students and audiences will love!
